Welcome

MINTRISK is a Method for INTegrated RISK assessment for infectious diseases in animals, which is developed jointly by Wageningen BioVeterinary Research (WBVR) and Wageningen Economic Research, both part of Wageningen University and Research.

The tool is suitable for risk assessment of vector-borne diseases of livestock and pets, where a vector is defined as a living species (mostly insects) which can transmit infections between hosts..

The tool will be further improved and new features will be added regularly. More comments and explanations are also still under development.

Especially for the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), a special version of MINTRISK was developed, to help assessing and ranking the risk of a large number of vector-borne diseases. This is a simplified version of the complete tool, with a stronger focus on transparency of the parameter choices.

The tool is available on line and by selecting the box GUEST under the login, all entries and results for the EFSA assessment can be seen.

For further risk assessment a temporary account can be obtained by filling in a registration form. This allows for changing parameters and calculating and saving the results for these changes. This account will be closed again after 8 hours.
